4) sacrificed

if any of u answered anything other than 2, you're as smart as half of my class who got it wrong! and these folks insisted that sacrificed was the right answer. so i explained..

sacrificed. involves dying in exchange for something you want to attain/achieve. was abt to give an example of terrorists, then realised how wrong that would sound! instead i went "Jesus sacrificed his life to save us." my goodness, shameless brainwashing of young minds. but got the point across to them immediately. christian sch you see, just refreshing what they learnt in chapel a few weeks ago haha..

dedicated. means to give of your best, doing all within ur ability and power to achieve something. a dedicated teacher. eg: Mr Inami is a very dedicated teacher who tries his best to teach his class, despite them being very mischievous. you see, im a firm believer of giving them live examples that they can visualise/experience to help them rmb things better! then there was this uproar of disapproval/agreement mixed together and took me quite awhile to get them to settle down again!

then for science, one of them asked me why do leaves have holes (stomata)! thought for awhile, then told the class to imagine if every leaf on earth grows noses instead of stomata. wouldnt that be a scary thought! some of them screamed hahaahhha!
